Couple shoot on another planet (Death Valley, California)
This February I journeyed to WPPI in Las Vegas for my annual Wedding Photography Portrait International Conference. Attending WPPI is a great way to re-connect with friends, check out products and service and to learn from the best in the industry. This was my 5th time to WPPI and I love that the location that provides the opportunity to explore the wild west. I try and do a few trips while I am in Las Vegas and prefer the solitude of the desert over the glitz and glamour of the strip.
I was fortunate to travel with Megan and Barrett of the Joyner Company who are fellow NC Wedding Photographers. We had planned our excursions for months. We decided to go to Death Valley National Park which is on the border of Nevada and California.
Have you ever seen STAR WARS episode IV: A New Hope from 1977? Who hasn’t, right? Well it’s a dream of mine to do a couple shoot on a location from this iconic movie. While we were exploring we ended up on the Planet Tatooine. Here are some of my favorite photos from our adventure:
It was fun being on a road trip with my friends on one of the most scenic places on Earth. I have visited about half of the national parks in the United States and Death Valley has to be one of my favorites. So here are some more photos from our little adventure throughout Death Valley.
Here is a little drone video Barrett created of our awesome day.
